This Monday, we taught the kids about the other countries' culture such as Canada, Europe, or Africa. We focused the teaching especially on countries that speak French such as France, Canada and Cameroun. the fact that i am from Camroon, i thought the kids about Africa culture, and i wanted them to know that Africa is not a country but a continent because many americans think that Africa is a country. And that Africa contains many countries such as Cameroun, MAli, Gabon, South Africa etc. I also taught them that people speak French in Cameroon because it has been colonized by France. the kids seemed less agitated this time maybe because the key players were not there. that means they paid more attention than the other days of teaching. The fact that it was the last day of teaching, we have had a food party at the end and the kids really enjoyed eating french cheese, chocolates and canada drink "orangina".

Food vocabulary
Monday, March 08-2010
In the class that day, we taught the kids the food vocabulary, the phrase-" j'ai faim" and clothing name. I presonally taught the kids the name of some foods and some fruits in french and after that my fellow teachers and I taught the kids the name of some clothes in french. I have to say that the kids were very distracted this time. We really had hard time to keep them focusing on what we were doing. We understood their behavior because they are just kids and sometimes they do not want to do anything. but to bring back their attention on what we were doing we organized a fashion show where we taught the kids the name of the clothes they were wearing and after that we made them tell to each other the name of what they wore. We also played : simon dit" meaning "Simon says" and the kids touched what we wanted them to touch. I think even though the kids were distracted, the class went well. I just think that more activities are good for the kids. bonne journee

Monday, 03-01-2010 / Months and Days
On Monday, my fellow and i taught they children the twelve months of the year, the seven days of the week in french. We also taught them seasons in french. I personally taught them months and days. As we usually do now, we divided the kids in four different groups. Among the kids that i had, only one did not pay attention and he was very distracted. I was little bit nervous because tried evrything to bring his attention on me but nothing worked. Ithink for those who paid attention, we worked well together. I.think that for the next class i hjust have to create one activity to capture the kids attention
